Paraphernalia polling

So, you know those hundred odd thousand polls that are conducted before the big day in November that try to give us a feel for who the next Oval Office occupant will be? No longer do we have to rely on those ever-fluctuating numbers!

According to the folks over at CafePress.com, it's all about the garb.

Yep. The "Obama is my Homeboy" T-shirts, the "Hockey Moms for McCain Palin" throw pillows or the "Hope" or "Nope" tees determine it all.

Could sales of such items predict who will be elected come Election Day? CafePress.com seems to think so.

Sales of its candidate-themed items have long tracked national polls, Amy Maniatis, vice president for marketing at the site, said. And the site is making it official now. It has started Spotlight Election 2008 as part of its CafePress Meter that tracks which candidates are outselling the others.

Mere weeks after the Republican National Convention, McCain-Palin items have caught up to their long-time Obama-Biden rivals. They are now neck and neck.

This requires action people! If nothing else does, THIS shouldn't sit well with you!

K, that's a little drastic. But either which way, hurry out and purchase your "Obama Mama" shirt today!
