will.i.am "It's A New Day"

Black Eyed Peas frontman will.I.am. debuted his new Obama Victory Song music video "It's A New Day" on Oprah Friday. Here it is for your viewing pleasure or disdain:

will.I.am. really has been behind Obama now for a very long time. He's worked to further his campaign and really secure his victory and I have to say this might be one of the most genuine celebrity "endorsements" (for lack of a better word) of sorts I've seen so far. The election may be over, but we have seen hordes of celeb PSAs that came off condescending and just plain annoying. I mean when you have people who are rich from looking pretty on screen undermining your intelligence with reverse psychology PSAs and talking to you like you're a child who can't choose between the red popsicle or the blue popsicle, it gets a little annoying. Or maybe that's just me. All in all though, I really can't hate on them, they are doing what they can to get the message out there that we need to exercise our civic duty and I suppose they deserve props for that.

Anyways, now that I'm done with my tangent, I have to say that will.I.am's video really touched me and it really does feel like a "new day" here in America.

Try not to laugh

It's hard not to feel bad for presidential contender Barack Obama when he has hundreds of shambolic celebs touting their support of him. And it only adds fuel to the McCain camp fire that Sen. Obama is a "celebrity" himself.

Well, he's finally let it be known, he doesn't want none of that. And by that, I mean Miss Lindsay Lohan's support.

After the Mean Girls star's most recent blog entry announcing her support for Mr. Obama after berating Gov. Palin, Lohan offered to host a series of events for the senator in order to garner support among younger voters.

Proving his intelligence is genuine and not pseudo, the Obama camp sent the following word out:

"Lindsay is not exactly the kind of high-profile star who would be a positive for us."

Pretty people

Demoting himself from perfection to near perfection, Chace Crawford discusses the famous hockey mom's veneer to a crowd at the Stand Up For A Cure Concert Series at Madison Square Garden yesterday.

"I'm not gonna lie. Sarah Palin is quite attractive," said the Gossip Girl heartthrob.

So, who is Crawford in bed with this election season?

"I can't talk politics," he said.

Hey, as long as he's pretty.

Food for thought

Good Will Hunting star Matt Damon has some choice words for former mayor of Wasilla, Sarah Palin.

He makes a prescient point. The Republican VP pick IS a scary thing. And more people should be talking about it. People may try to draw parallels between Gov. Palin and Sen. Obama experience-wise, but they're missing one key point. The American public CHOSE Sen. Obama to be our Democratic nominee and potential president. But, in the case of Sarah Palin, she was chosen for us, and quite hastily by GOP nom John McCain. The situation is a serious one, I hope ya'll give it some thought before you head out to the election booths November 4.

Russell Brand gets political at the VMAs

In the most crass of ways.

In an effort to urge young voters to elect Barack Obama this November, Brand actually suppressed any hopes of the Democratic party appearing intelligent.

"Please, America, elect Barack Obama. On behalf of the world," said the Brit host.

And then, naturally, the shambolic mess referred to President Bush as "that retarded cowboy fellow."

Umm, thanks, but no thanks Russell. How about you keep your mouth shut and let the rest of Hollywood malign the Democratic name in their support of Obama.

To top things off, he lampooned the Jonas Brothers for their vows of chastity. America really hates you now.
